Goodbye 2020! Year Analysis + me being philosophical lol

Hey, there wonderful people! Hope you are having a great day so far. I’m back with another post! Even though I’m a week late, I wish you a very happy new year and I hope this year will be as awesome as you are!

2020 has finally come to an end and I hope 2021 will be kind to us. This year was both sweet and sour and it can’t be easily removed from our history (not because it was bad, but because it was good in many ways).

We don’t understand the importance of something until we realise why it happened. Just think, if 2020 was a person, how bad it would feel if we told it that it was the worst year? Okay, I know it’s not a person but still. It was trying to teach us lessons we wouldn’t have learnt otherwise. It’s a fact that most of us focus only on the bad someone has done but if we start focusing on the good, we’ll know that 2020 was good too.

For there is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

– Shakespeare

Too much philosophy. Now, let’s move on.

How was 2020 for me?

What was bad?

  • I missed school a lot. Like, I love school so much and I missed it. I went to school for the last time in March when my session ended, and then I went there for some work only once in November and the sad thing is that I was late so I didn’t meet any of my friends but only my teachers (it was nice talking to them though).
  • Online school ruined my studies. The online school feels more tiring than real school just because I can’t talk with friends or have fun between classes and that is why I don’t like to revise everything just after my classes are over. Also, I was looking forward to practical classes, especially chemistry practical, and they never happened.
  • Online school is bad for health. Sitting at one place and staring at a screen for hours is the reason why I experience headaches and back pain. Yoga has helped me tackle this though.
  • I missed going out but when it was finally time for that, I realised that I have become carsick.

What was good?

  • We didn’t get uninvited guests and so I lived my life peacefully. (no offense)
  • I enjoyed being alone and spending some time with myself. I also discovered myself a lot more.
  • I learnt new things like sketching, and I also started to work on my poetry.
  • I spent a lot of time with my family.
  • I read tons of books!
  • I started blogging.
  • I made many new friends in the blogosphere.
  • I learnt that we should appreciate whatever we have because unfortunately, some people don’t have that too.
  • All of us tried things we have never done before. For me, it was online school and that made me realize “all that glitters is not gold”. Honestly, I used to think that online school would be so fun- lying on a couch and studying (But it’s not). I know, some people had to attend online school even before last year and they like that. Different people have different choices and I respect that.

So, overall, 2020 was a great year for me. I experienced things I never experienced before. Also, good and bad are like opposite sides of a coin, right? So if you want good, you need to experience bad too. Things happen for a reason and there will be a beautiful reason why 2020 was so harsh on some of us.

So this was today’s post. Hope you enjoyed reading it. What are your opinions about 2020? Did you like it? What are you looking forward to this year? Do you have any goals for 2021? Let’s chat in the comments!
